What do you wear for rainy days? I wouldn't plan on riding my gixxer in the rain but I have on my standard, and I have been caught in the rain as well. There is that big storage space in the back... I was thinking I'd pack some rain gear there... for a rainy day so to speak.

Well, I haven't figured out how to deal with the summer rain yet (other than avoiding it) but my winter gear is a First Gear Kilimanjaro jacket and Frank Thomas pants, both are waterproof.

seriously... the cordura stuff by itself isn't very water resistant even, but it's lined with gore-tex so it lets moisture out, but none gets in. ...and yeah, I know it doesn't protect as well in a slide as leather does, but I confine 99% of my triple-digit insanity to the racetrack anyway (when I can afford to go). The plus side of the textile stuff is that it's warm, easy to keep clean, waterproof, and offers *decent* protection for sane street riding. Trust me, in Seattle, warm and dry is a *good* thing.
here click on this... wet weather over jacket jacket (http://209.221.187.20/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=28&t=000121&p=)
ive used it many times since i posted that and its GREAT! you fit comfortably with your leathers under em and they keep you practically 100% dry!...
over my pants i have simple dririder wet weather pants...they work real well too, but dont breathe too well...

Cool guys, thanks Nolz! i knew somebody had to make some mtcl specific rain gear... i.e. comfortable while riding and easily to get over your real riding gear. cordua is not really waterproof. I had a waterproof cordura backpack that didn't do much of anything to protect my books from getting wet. Ski suit stuff does a pretty good job keeping the elemets out but isn't very comfotable riding gear... esp when worn over top of your standard gear.
