howdy, I just want to see if this happens to all the RX7-RR4...or just mine..

when I need to close my visor, I always have to apply some sort of pressure to the visor lock...the visor lock then locks in with a click sound....

but on my friend's quantum/f, you just sorta close the visor and the visor locks in as it comes down...I Have to apply more pressure...and I mean MORE...

I was just wondering if this is due to the helmet design or I need to make some adjustment..???

help guys...

I have a Quantum/f and i have to do the same thing now, although when the helmet was new it would close on its own as well.

My Quantum/f hardly needs any pressure to lock the visor..even when it was new..

My stock clear visor shuts/seals and locks perfectly with a little pressure. My Arai Smoked windshield takes a lot of pressure to lock and doesn't seal very well on the lower right side unless I push on it with my gloves...what the fuck dude? Pisses me off cus I use my smoked shield much more. The smoked one used to lock and seal a lot better.

My rx7 was hard to lock at first and then I noticed that I could slide the locking part on the to make it work a little smoother. You need a very small screwdriver to adjust it on the bottom.

Is the lock forward or back.. when its forward for venting its harder to close.. when back for full shut it should be easier.. although my quantum was a little tough at first..

I broke the LH shield bracket (under the cover) when removing the visor and had to replace it. Since then, I've been unable to lock my visor, which sucks as the wind blows it opens when I turn my head at speed.

There doesn't seem to be any may to adjust the position of the bracket but I have to take it apart again and figure out something otherwise it's time for a new helmet.

My RR4 has always been hard to close the visor, snap shut and pry open. Don't know why, oh and another thing does everybody else have a fog problem, I have to leave my shield cracked open to prevent fogging up, sucks in the rain images/icons/frown.gif

Great helmet, but for the cost it shouldn't fog up, and it should come with a smoke shield as well

The shield lock slides back and forth. When it is forward, the shield is easy to close and then slide the lock back. It sounds like some folks leave it back and it makes it hard to open and close. If you look at the helmet and not the shield, it should make sense. Also, use the silicone that comes with your helmet (the clear stuff in the little bottle). It keeps the seal around the shield moist. I use it for all my helmets. It works better than spit.....

Mine requires pressure with the visor lock forward or back. I kinda have to pull it out and up to open it.

The reason I ask is that my visor lock tab (demist lock tab) has broken off once, and had to get a brand new visor just because of it..and I'm afraid that the visor lock won't withstand the pressure that I have to apply everytime I close the lock-in the visor....and with the warranty spamming that the Arai has been receiving...I don't think they'll ever read my warrant file letter....

I HAVE 2 OF THE RX7-RR4 BLUE EDWARDS AND BOTH OF MINE ARE THE SAME AS YOURS. DOESNT MATTER WHICH WAY THE LATCH IS SLID STILL HARD TO SHUT AND ALSO HARD TO OPEN.

wasn't any harder than opening up my agv x-vent. though i did worry about breaking off the little tab that allows you to lock and push foward to get some ventilation in.

Quantum/f Was a little hard at first. As someone said already, use silicon (doesn't help lock, helps squeaking and binding). But for the lock, get a screwdriver, unscrew the lock from the visor, close it, then adjust/and screw the lock back on, open/close shield and repeat adjustment if necessary, that is what I had to do with my Arai tinted shield.

I guess I'll try your method...unscrew that tiny screw on the visor lock and try to adjust it..thanks for the tip by the way..
