: back end stepping out

Just got a question - of late when downshifting and decelerating in a straight line, not particularly aggressively mind you, the rear end has been stepping out to the side. It feels a bit disconcerting and I was wondering if it could be a suspension problem.

I don't normally rpm match, but I'm not shifting down aggressively so I'm pretty sure the back wheel isn't locking up.

Any suggestions??, I'm riding an 04 750 and this has only just started happening of late.

Cheers!

You need to blip the throttle when coming down through the gears like that.

Either that or get a slipper cutch http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

+1 Don't have to be agressive to lock the rear for a second... When your breaking the rear gets unloaded quite a bit... Not much traction back there. Blip her and RPM match... Not only will it keep the rear stuck, it sounds cool as hell too.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/squid.gif
