MStingray 02-25-2002, 03:10 PM I have an x-vent (top of the line) AGV and it fits pretty snug. couldn't tell you if it's a step up/down from HJC though. It doesn't fit as well as my Arai RX7 cause it hurts my ears but it's alright for the price. bought mine for like $250.
u cant keep up 02-26-2002, 01:44 AM i like my x-vent but it is slightly tight around my forhead.no big deal though.it does flip my ears when i put it on but theygo back in place when helmet is on all the way.i would buy another
Did you look on www.agv.com (http://www.agv.com) ?
they have lots of cheap lids on there, might be able to get a better one for the same money
I'm ordering an x-vent when I get paid this friday, they're usually $400+ and the solid color ones are only $230 on there now.

yeah the AGV does fit snugly (around my cheeks for me) but after in gets broken in it gets better. I would never buy another HJC, IMO i think you would be downgrading. The AGV is heavier than the HJC but the build quality is much better. You would have to try it on and get a feel for it. yeah I also got my lid for a little cheaper $250 w/ extra visors and some type of maintainence case off of agv's web site. BTW I have a Q3 helmet, I think the X-vent's are a little better but I had to go cheap at the time and no regrets so far. Although I tried on an Arai and guess what my next lid is going to be images/icons/wink.gif
I have an AGV Agron and it's a nice helmet, for the price. Nothing compared to the X-Vent though. It fits my head perfect and around my cheeks it's a little snug (I end up talking like a chip munk). As for weight- its not heavy at all. Hope that helps.
Drizzt 02-28-2002, 01:29 AM I also have AGV x-vent, it fits my head well, when 1st worn it will feel snug, but after few times of wearing it, it loosens a fractions and feels great. i def will be buying another x-vent for a next helmet when I need one
95Yosh750 02-28-2002, 03:31 AM I also think an AGV is a step up from an HJC. I have an X-vent. Fits snug on the cheeks but other than that its comfortable. I like my Arai better though. The face shield on the Arai seems to me to be more open at the top so I can see more peripherally(sp?) Just my 2 cents. images/icons/smile.gif

sid-6.1 03-04-2002, 05:22 PM i own an x-vent too since 2 years.good quality .
but my arai signet gt is lighter and more silent.
My coach from my days in motocross swore upon wearing a new lid overnight in bed. I thought he was full of it, but I tried it a few years ago and sleeping in it (assuming you can get to sleep in it) spares you the discomfort of having it wear on you under the vibration of riding. I woke up red faced with a face ache and that inevitable hair ache that goes hand in hand with wearing a helmet for an extended period of time, but that passed after a quick shower and the helmet fit like a glove afterwards. That is, assuming that the glove was the shape of your head... graemlins/idea.gif
gixxerjasen 03-07-2002, 01:10 PM My first helmet was an AGV R1. Super cheap helmet cause I didn't know dick when I got it. Anyway, I wore it from Feb98-Mar2001 and had zero problems with it. Fit was ok, but the Shoei and Arai were better. I'd say that AGV is a step up from HJC especially if you get one of the better model AGV's.
gixxerfever 03-07-2002, 03:30 PM just remember one thing... if you have a $100 dollar head buy a $100 dollar helmet... remember you only have one head and if you damage it, it will never be the same.

I got my AGV X-vent yesterday images/icons/grin.gif
Its not the lightest helmet, but it seems nice. Fits good, a bit tight but it will break in and be fine. You can get a nice deal on them from www.agv.com (http://www.agv.com) right now too, $240 shipped, and it came with 5 shield tearoffs, an anti-fog breath deflector thing, a couple stickers images/icons/grin.gif and a bag
Haven't gotten to ride yet so I don't know how it is for noise or anything. Hoping to get out this weekend and try it out though images/icons/cool.gif
