I have the Pheonix jacket for the purpose of, it's better than wearing nothing. It does offer good protection, the padding is almost as good as my leather jacket. It has padding in the arms, shoulders, spine.I am not sure if the padding is removeable, haven't tried. I am unsure of what kind of material they use for the jacket itself, it is made entirely of a heavy guage nylon like mesh, that is weaved together. I live in Georgia and the jacket is perfect for those hot summer days. I wouldn't want to go down at high speed with this jacket, but then again I wouldn't want to go down at high speed in any jacket. But if you are just crusin, it's a great jacket.

my bro has 1 and it's definitely a good warm weather jacket cause it feels like you're just wearing a t-shirt when it's on. forarm/elbow, shoulder and back armer all removable. don't know about crashworthyness though. i think as long as it's tight, it shouldn't have any probs holding up in a light get off. i wouldn't want to crash in it at 100mph+ but should be good for regular riding.

I'm thinking of getting a hot weather jacket. My JR Speedway is a nice jacket, but the ventilation is a little lacking for the hot days.
Questions about the Pheonix:
What is made of mesh, chest, arms, back???
Is the padding decent? Is it removable?
Thanks.
Here's a link for it.

I think the reactor jacket is probably better. It has poly steel mesh in the middle and perforated leather on the arms. Still seems very cool but with more protection.
here's a link for the reactor.

I love mine ! I crashed at around 80MPH and it held up very well so well that I went out and bought another one.

Yeah, I'm curently looking at the JR Phoenix too...and I think getting a snugly fiting one is the way to go. I think we all know that a big one will look better but it will ride up in a slide and that's no good at all. Incidently, does anyone know if Kneedraggers will give a 10% discount for members? I got my Alpinestars leather a few weeks ago and "forgot" to ask..

Mention you heard about them on Gixxer.com and ask what kind of deal they can work. Talk to Todd, he's the man!
