The object here is to fight the wind. Take a look at any wind chill chart and take a look at your speedometer. Blocking wind is key, then insulation next. Best insulation is soft fluffy stuff like fleece and sweats. Dressing in layers is next best thing. I wear a few layers, then my leathers, then a wind breaker over top of the leathers. Sweats over top will do almost nothing as wind will just cut right through it. Feet, legs and arms are the most neglected parts too. I know some people who wear newspaper bags as socks to block out the wind. I wear ski pants but any windbreaker pants will do over your jeans or leathers. Gauntlet style gloves do wonders at deflecting wind from going up your sleeve. Finally keeping your neck warm is the hardest. I finally bought a ski mask/balclava combo and wear that underneath the helmet. I look like sub-zero or scorpion or somebody off of a videogame but girls smile... maybe for the wrong reasons, but being warm is much better than looking good especially if you have an charming persona, which I don't but I'm working on it. Anyhows, if one part of your body is cold, then your whole body will be cold, so don't forget to coverup and block that wind... hope this helps you fearless riders... I'm putting my bikes away for the season!
