I live in Arizona now and I bought the Blaster Jacket but they sent me the perforated summer one...(super cold). But I'm gonna keep it for the summer riding. I wanted to know what's a super warm jacket out there...I dont care if it's either leather or Nylon (whichever one is warmer). AND need it to be 100% windproof..so the wind doesn't enter the jacket AT ALL. I'm thinking the fabric jackets are better at keeping you warm?

you going to use it strictly cold weather since you have a perfed JR blaster?

if so just get an all weather or sport touring textile jacket (has the little lower lip/flap below the waistline) maybe 1 size up. that way you can wear a sweater inside when it gets really cold. i have a motoboss avila textile jacket (cycle gear seems to be the only place i've seen selling em.) and wear a smaller jacket inside and it's warm enough for me riding at about 35-40F on the freeway at errr...a "nice clip" (read 100+). when it starts to warm up, i just don't wear the smaller jacket and during the summer, i take out the removable liner and open up the arm, chest back vents. it's still a little hot in the jacket during the summer though (about 80F).

textile will provide better warmth but less protection. leather doesn't act as a drag so much on the freeway cause it's slimmer and tougher.

personally, i'd just as well get a leather jacket 1 or 2 sizes up and wear a sweater or a thermo inside just for the added protection.

textile:
better warmth
less protection
cheaper than leather

leather:
not quite as warm
most protection of the 2
copes better w/ higher speeds

for the winter and very cold days I use my gortex dainese jacket, that also has built in armor. rather expensive jacket, but i have been very happy with it, i just recomend try looking for a jacket with gortex if you plan on riding in cold/wet weather..

Just got a Firstgear Thermo suit. It has been in the upper 20's lower 30's for the past two weeks in Sacto (it even snowed here the other day) and I don't feel a bit of the cold through the suit. Got a deal from a buddy at a dealership[ and only paid $142 for it. There's no armor in it but when it is this cold, I don't whoop it up too much.

Thanks Guys!..Usually when it's cold to the point that my perforated blaster jacket isn't enough I don't go too fast-mainly cus my tires never truly get warm. and because I don't usually go anywhere when it's cold unless Im just trying to get somewhere. I was thinking of a textile with armor since they're cheaper now that you guys said they're pretty decent.

How do you like the blaster jacket overall? I was planning on getting one soon.

I love the Blaster jacket...it's got a bunch of perforation so it's probably the best summer leather jacket I've seen...plenty ventilation (to a certain point) The quality is very good...100% genuine leather. Inside it has very strong spinal armor/shoulder/elbow and nice thick top spine cushioning and kidney cushioning. The only areas not perforated are the top shoulders and elbows. The non-perofrated Blaster jacket has ventialtion only in the inner arm area.
I love it man..what else can I say?

Where did you buy it and how much did you pay for it?

Keith, go to newenough.com and check out the jacket closeout page. Right now they have the Joe Rocket Speedmaster on closeout and its an excellent jacket. It has the 1.5 cowhide (most of JR's jackets don't use the good leather) and air vents in the sides and shoulders, hard GP type armor, its JR's best jacket and the price is right. Plus Paul and Holly are great folks to do business with....
