I'm wanting to buy rim tape that matches the red color of the R & 1000 logos
for my Silver 03 1K. All recommendations appreciated!

If you dont want to order online and want to see for yourself , you can check out Cycle Gear. I know they have a few stores in florida.

This seller DustanGraffix is great. I've bought all my stripes from him off ebay. They are curved, cheap, and easy to install. He's got some cool color combinations too.

I've found having a stand makes this a ton easier but i've done it without stands before too by laying on the ground and following it around the rims very carefully. Like was said before, make sure your rims are clean before applying the tape.

Here's a pic of the maroon tape I got from him for my bike:

Ordered mine off Ebay from SuperBikestore for $14. Received it 3 days after my purchase which was awesome. It was easy to put on but the hard part was trying to keep it perfect and straight but you can't really tell until you start riding. I'll try to get some pictures up later.

I have ordered from both dustangraphix and tapeworks, and dustangraphix are cheap and easy to install, but if your looking for that extra pop, then the reflective line from tapeworks will wow people at your local bike nights.

Go to your local auto part store and buy some pin striping. You can get almost any shade of any color for just a few dollars.

I have the reflexive tape from tapeworks. Here's a pic. First pic you can see how reflective the tape is, the second pic is with just natural light shined on it.

Just bought mine off tape works it looks pretty simple to install. Are there any ticks or tips that you guys have that might make it easier?

> Peel and cut off about half an inch to an inch on the tip

> Lay it on the edge of the rim to get it to match around the rim as accurately as you can.

> Then peel back the rest of the paper and use your thumb to run/press the tape down the rim as you peel.

I bought mine pre-curved on ebay so as others said it's easier, but IMO that's the best way to apply it. Kinda like the same way you would apply decals. Cut off the edge so only the edge is sticky. That way you can position it correctly first and then peel off the rest and rub as you peel.

This may seem like common sense but you have no idea how many times I've seen people peel off the whole decal and then try to position/stick the decal onto the surface. What ends up happening usually is wrinkles, bubbles, and misalignment. :wacko
