You are kidding right?

Here is the pic. Model 2277 racing gloves $169 and some info.
Held gloves are not cheap. A minimum of 14 parts is required for each glove. As you can imagine, a great deal of work time is needed to put them together by the highly skilled Held craftsmen in Germany. And Held gloves, of course, are made from only the finest leather. Finding leather of an acceptable quality is a continuing challenge for the Held brothers as the number of qualified people in the tanning profession decreases. But their persistence pays off in a product that is recognized for its quality and workmanship by motorcyclists throughout the world.

Held quality has always been superior, and over the last few years this has been demonstrated by a number of specific product tests, in Motorrad, Tourenfahrer, City Bike, Cycle, Road Rider, Motorcyclist, Roadracing World, Sport Rider, and other publications.

Was he the one on the 98 750 with 99 body work or something? There is Roswell Fun Machines and Performance Power Sports over here by me. Maybe Marmo has them.

Yeah, Marmo has them.

Held Gloves are some of the best quality. They are distributed by Helimot, I think their website is www.helimot.com. (http://www.helimot.com/catalog/gloves/gloves_menu.html) There are many to chose from really.

The really nice thing is that there is virtually no break-in time. The soft kangaroo leather is great, and even better after it rains. They aren't cheap, but then again they last for years.

I have owned 4 pairs, the first two are like those posted by Ryno. The other two, the "galaxy" ($230) and the "akira" glove ($200), are actually for racing, but are still very good.

I've owned many gloves, from Dianese, Alpinestar, Nankai, Spidi, to name a few. Held are by far the best quality. Well worth the price considering how comfortable they are and how long they last.

BTW, they make the best magnetic tankbags as well.

Eddie, Ed's are exactly like the ones you posted a pic of. He's had them for at least 2 1/2 years and seems to really like them. They definetly hold up well his still look brand new.

They're great gloves. I own 2 pairs (one hotweather, one not) and they just don't wear out. Riding in rain or shine they just last a really long time. And they crash well.......

Those gloves look awesome. is there an online shop you all are looking at? I've not seen any held gloves in the local VA stores. If someone could provide me with a link I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Held are the only gloves I have ever used at track days or races. Here is the U.S. importers web page www.helimot.com (http://www.helimot.com) they do a lot of custom leathers for racers. Great place and great people with passion for bikes and riding.

So you bought a $600 suit, but are looking at $200 gloves? Seems like you put more value on your hands than the rest of your body.

How do you know what I have? That's all I could afford at that time.

No offense intended dude, but his gear is top quality. I would - in your words - put more value on my hands than the rest of my body any day (helmet/head excluded).

Joe Rocket is not top quality. Three years ago (1999)they had problems with their stretch panels melting into your skin in a slide. This year (2001) the Highside suit had problems tearing at the stitching when in a slide. Good stuff, no?

I just hope he has better luck with his suit. Maybe he got one of the few that were made properly, and won't melt into him or allow him to have roadrash at the track this year. Good luck in the meatgrinder classes!

Glad to hear you don't have JR. I like to see all my track competitors riding safe! See you at the track Feb 9-10 for the regional?

why are you so concerned with what he's wearing?

Because this will be his first year at the track, new (to him) bike, etc. Don't want to see him ground up across the track. Been there done that. It sucks. His hands won't grind away on the pavement all the time. Most likely he'll end up on his rear and back, which will take most of the abuse as he slides. If the suit come apart, it's hamburger time...
