what can i do to add some real power to this bike without a turbo or nitrous?

Usual stuff, pipe, jetting, airbox mod....flat side carbs........all that sort of stuff, cams....can get you prob a solid 15+hp. Still gonna be slow though.....those were the slow years.

Carb swap would be your best bet.
