i have the lightning jacket and LOVE it!! a couple of my friends have the chicane (just a summer jacket cause it's perforated) and they love theirs. i was t-boned by a car and landed 50ft away and the jacket barely looks touched. it has good armor and ventilation. you can't beat the price eighter. i paid $250 for mine

I have the Violater II gloves, and they work like a champ. Personally, unless you are racing, I would stay away form the studded gloves. If you rest your hand on your tank sitting at a stop light with studded gloves you will scratch the living daylights out of your tank before you even realize you did it. Just my 1/50th of a dollar...

I have the chicane in black and it's awesome. fully perf in the front so it's a little chilly on cooler days, but thats what sweaters are for.

as for gloves, I don't have studded, but I want some. I've heard some nasty things about ppl's gloves wearing through or sticking to the pavement and snapping their arms back in a crash. Studs slide, sliding is good, studded gloves are good. But I personally don't care if my tank is a little scratched. or you could be like gsxf'nr and not wear any at all, nutso.

Teknic stuff is OK... my friend had a get off at 35 or so blew out the shoulder seam .. other friend a little high side at about 25 and same deal.. I like the gloves though..the vilotaor 2's are nice.. Im weary of the studded stufff. maybe if they were plastic studs and not metal.. ive heard the metal heats up in a slide and ends up burning your palms..I think its outta preference..my $.02

I've got the violater II gloves and I love them. They feel nice, didn't need breaking in, and are comfortable. I haven't gone down in them yet, and I hope I don't, but if I do I think (hope) they'll hold up.

One of my riding buddies had a 2 piece Technic (Vialator, I think) suit and studded gloves.

After a few years, the seams either ripped or just fell apart. He is a small guy, and he wasn't over loading the jacket.

The pants went to hell in no time. The leather cracked and peeled around the knees.

The gloves held up great. He had a get off at about 50 or so. The studs kept the leather from being eaten by the pavement.
