This past Sunday my boy and I were riding. I decided to show-off a little and nailed the throttle in 1st gear. The tire started to spin and I shifted to 2nd, when I tried to shift to 3rd it would not shift. The bike has never did this before. I believe that the transmission is damaged. Has anyone had a similiar experience? How expensive is transmission repair? The bike is a 2002 gixxer 1000. 1070 piston kit, web cams, billet basket, big valve head, nos, stretched and lowered. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif

Does it have an Air Shifter? Did you use the clutch when you shifted it????????????

I doubt you damaged it because of 1 time.
Now, if you are constantly doing it, thats a different story.
has it continued not to shift into 3rd gear after that ?
