I thought Ryan had the record from last year???

Ryan's record from 2004 was retired because of significant rule changes for 2005. In 2004 the ground clearance rule was 2" this year it's 3". More importantly, in 2004 the bike and rider had to weigh 600 so he had about 50lbs of ballast on the bike and in 2005 we are not allowed any ballast on the bikes.
If I could add 50lbs of ballast to this scooter it would go just as fast or faster than they did in 2004.

sorry I didn't know about the new changes. I'm glad you cleared that up. I was starting to wonder why the new Suzki's were not turning faster times then last year's bike.
Ya that ballast makes all the difference in the world..So no ballast at all this year??? If so, that's a very good times your running!!! I'm impressed with you and the bike, keep up the good work.

so Chip, how much HP you getting out of the new 5K in race trim?
I doubt I get an answer on that question but it never hurts to ask. Ryan showed me the dyno chart of his zx10 last year after racing was over and I was really impressed with the numbers they got out of that thing.

mid 180's and we haven't cracked the cases yet to touch the bottom end
it was easier to ride with less hp to the 1/8th mile before

If you don not mine me asking whats your gearing? from stock

I am running stock ratio gearing but gearing really depends on your riding style. I know some of the other guys running 05's are running a lot more gear than I.
My riding style is pretty aggressive and I like to lock the throttle in the first 60' so i've had nothing but big wheelies so far when adding more gear than stock.
