Hi, I own a 2000 GSXR 750. Recently i was having trouble with my motor pre-igniting so I went out and bought a car kit 2003 750. The only thing that was not changed was the speedometer. Unfortunately the connection is the same and all works however the gas light will not go off. It is consistantly on. I tried a 2001 gsxr 1000 tach and the same problem. I thought that the speedometers for the 750 00-03 were identical. Does anyone know why my gas light won't go off?
I could use all the help i can get. (other than purchasing an 03 speedo hehe) I've know i may have to consider that option.

Get a 03 GSXR 750 speedo and you will be okay.

Yes that was kind of the answer i was expecting i guess. Previous i used a 2001 gsxr 1000 tach on a 2001 gsxr 750 and there was no problems...rpms were accurate although the redline obviously was different and thus i just had to keep that in mind...

Suppose i'm in the market for an 03 speedo now....no rush though...first i'll take out the bulb hehe

The speedos and the fuel pumps need to be matched because the fuel sending units changed fairly often over the years.

Is the fuel light on when using the '00 750 pump with the '00 750 guages?
