: Track days with no sessions
Blaise 03-29-2005, 03:22 AM Coyn mentioned it in another thread, but I'm curious about what organizations offer such a set-up.
I'm assuming (because I got no confirmation on my assumption in the other thread) that it means the track is basically open all day and you just pit in as need be.
If this is true, I'm down because 20 minute sessions seem all too short, especially if I am trying to adjust my bike. The thought of stopping to make a change in the middle of a 20 minute session is hard to cope with, so I'd an all day type track day.
Anyone?

coyn586 03-29-2005, 03:47 AM I believe Lance Keigwin also offers a few no sessions days during the year.
And yes.. They open the track to you.. after the riders meeting, you go on track.. on and off when you please, with the exception of a break for lunch, or if there's a red/flag type of situation. Typically no sessions days cost quite a bit more than a standard 2 or 3 session day.
Jason@IndySBK 03-29-2005, 11:10 AM Some nesba days are, but its just for the advanced class.
Jon T. Flesh 03-30-2005, 10:13 AM Our three main tracks (SCR, PMI and CDR)are basically pay for the day or half day and ride at your own risk (no corner workers, no ambulance on site)
Some days you might share with cars but man it is so nice to toss 45.00 down and ride for 4 hours at your pleasure or drop 90.00 for the whole day.
I haven't had any problems with the cars but if I see a whole crapload of street legal cars on the track I will watch before commiting to going out there first. Most of the race cars are fine while you are on the track but some of those street kids get scary.

I don't care what you say, but that's just unsafe. I could never go all out with no ambulance. Not to mention around cars. No thanks.
Blaise, it's not gonna help you, but this year NESBA has 3 days scheduled without sessions. Advanced riders only. I'm making one (Summit) and trying for two (Barber). Sometimes, if it's a REALLY light day, they'll call it a green track and it's open to everybody. Advanced passing rules, but be curteous. I've only ever heard of that happening at BeaveRun and CMP. Never been to one (yet).
Obviously, the orgs can fit fewer riders on a day like that, since there's the chance that everybody goes out at the same time, so it'll be more expensive. E.g. the Summit day is $260 vs. the normal fee of $160. Barber is $290 vs. $185.

No worries, that is just racing in Colorado though.
We have 0 support from the public. I would not be suprised in 10 years if we have 0 tracks out here besides PPIR which does not offer track days at all.

Ooooh, thanks, I've been wanting to hit Pahrump. I've got a friend out there.
Ibidu1 04-07-2005, 04:27 AM At homestead I was skipping and sliding the ass end in turns. Cause my rear spring is too soft lol and the shock is blown. Its like riding a dirt bike just more sensitive and more painful if you wreck lol.
