Be careful out there guys. In our game Mon. night one of my friends went head first into the boards and broke the c3 and c5 vertabra in his neck. No dirty hit or anything just a freak accident. It was scary as hell he hit the ice and never move afterward. He was consious but could'nt move from the neck down and had no feeling in his hand and feet. He,s been in the hospital for 3 days now and is regaining the feeling and partial movement in his extremities. He is in a halo and is expected to be in the hospital for about 2 months. Got good news this morning that the doc's think he will make a full recovery and that the paralisis is from spinal cord swelling, but it's gonna take alot of hard work. The team is putting his #17 on our helmets and we are going to do our best to win our league championship. So be careful out there.

Here's to Steve making a speedy graemlins/cheers.gif recovery. graemlins/cheers.gif

Good luck to your buddy.
It is much like when a biker goes down and slides into the retaining wall at the track images/icons/frown.gif

I hear ya.....Been there myself.

Got pounded from behind while fishing the puck off some guys skate....Head down, and buddy takes a run at me.

Didn't hit me square, though, and I spun around and hit the wall sideways.

He got himself a nosejob for that one....

Hope you bud gets through this quick....Good luck with the league championship.

Good to hear he's is going to make a recovery. Had a friend in high school go head first into the boards. 5 years and he still has no feeling from the waist down. Good luck to the team and winning the league.

I hope everything works out for your buddy. That is scary! I tore my acl playing 1/19, and was bumming, but an injury like that puts mine in perspective.
