I am trying to work on improving my track skills this year and read TOTW II and it mentioned putting all your weight on the outside peg in turns. Now i spoke with some people i ride with and they said that they knew of the technique but were to short to use it.

What I am looking for is some better explanations of this technique than what TOTW II gave. I tried it the other day but without a full understanding i can't say that i am doing it right or wrong.

I assume they do that so you use your legs more in turns and pushing out on the outer peg will give you more traction while in lean. Helps you also turn in better cause your body will be arched

But if your a newbie on the track, just go out there and have fun.

Ride.

I know exactly of the chapter you are talking about! Just like you said, the outside peg makes a better, centered pivot point. Keeping your weight closer to the center of mass makes the bike easier to steer. It also makes you more stable on the bike by spreading your legs further apart.
