So one of my front rotors is warped and needs to be replaced. I already wanted to upgrade to stainless lines, and need new pads, so now I am thinking about getting a full kit including calipers. Who makes good kits? I was looking at Brembo, but dont know anything about their motorcycle products (their car brakes are Shit Hot). I cant find any reviews or info on this kind of upgrade.
Also, how much better would braking performance be with after market calipers vs. stock calipers with stainless lines, new rotors, and new pads?
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I guess that the fact that most MotoGP and WSB bikes have Brembos kinda vouches for their quality... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Huh, I never noticed that... well in that case is anyone familiar with the Brembo Gold Series Sport Upgrade Kit? Should I just get new rotors, lines and pads, or is it worth it to get a complete kit?

For the Brembo kit (add a Radial MC too) try Fred at Yoyodyne 973-401-1954. Be ready as they are not cheap but worth it. I have a PFM Superbike (narrow band) kit on my 02 1000 front end on my 90 1100. They are great but run about 1800.00 not including the Brembo Radial MC (19-20).

but how would a full kit with calipers compare to just replacing the rotors, lines, and pads?

I would say that the PFM kit was about a 50% improvement over the stock set I used before with -2 lines, stock rotors, stock 1000 calipers, Sintered pads. Another cheaper swap I have seen alot of is Honda 954 4 piston calipers on ours. They are 4 piston calipers but have bigger pistons than the 600/750 GSXR's. I can't tell you what it takes to do this though.

I upgraded to Galfer wave rotors all the way around with bradied lines and am very pleased.
The nice part about it is that it was fairly affordable. Unless your buliding a hardcore track bike I dont see why you need to spend that much cash on a setup. I ride the twisties pretty hard and no complaints with my setup. The only thing I might add on would be a new master cylinder setup.

Well I took the plunge and bought a kit from Cal-Sportbike. It includes Ferodo Braketech Axis ductile iron rotors, Brembo 34/34 4-piston 4-pad calipers fitted with Brembo Racing sintered pads, Brembo forged radial pump master cylinder, Galfer stainless steel superbike lines, Motul 5.1 Brake Fluid, and all the other little bolts and fittings.
My bike is a 2002 750 that has seen a lot of hard miles, and I figured I might as well go all the way and replace those aging parts. Im sure its gonna be awsome. Ill let everyone know how the kit is once I install it.
