"yes actually.. at least for geometry.. set your forks flush with the top of your triples, and run your shock with between 5-8mm's of shims on top.. basically look for between 337-340mm eye to eye on the rear shock.. and remember more is not always better.. start with the lesser and work it up til it handles like you want. "

Okay, I'm a little confused. Is that 5-8mm the same as the 5-8mm of preload we talked about adding earlier or is that in addition to the preload?

shit, i posted a pretty good reply in here yesterday.. not sure where it went though.. anyhow.

get your sag set first.. then shoot for between 337 and 340mm of rear ride height at the shock.. this is the shocks eye to eye length, plus what ever shims you need to put at the clevis to = this.. its just a starting point to work from.. but its as good of a place to start as any..

Excellent. I'll start there. What did you use to measure the shock height? Also, didn't you say you went full preload up front, and stiffened up the compression and rebound on both ends? I can't remember. Thanks!!

preload has got to be done on your bike for you.. each bike is slightly different. so have someone help you set your sag, but yes, i have the preload dialed all the way in up front, and still have to do out back, and i did stiffen up compression and rebound a couple clicks.

get a metric measuring tape and measure your eye to eye length. one of the guys in the 1k forum measured the stock shock and came up with 332 from eye to eye, and i added 6mm of shims on mine.. ill start there and make adjustments from there.. good luck, and ill keep ya posted. although it looks like im gonna send my shocks to gmd to be worked anyhow so my settings will change then.. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif
