saw a good stretch of road and decided to nail-er'

ps- if you switch (US model) the gauge to report in kph, then apply a correction factor (via yellobox) to it to reflect MPH, it should then read up to an actual 300 mph, just reported in KPH seemingly....

as far as the mileage racking up......

well thasa different story altogether

If you have a yellow box, you can read the directions, and it tells you a way to time how long it takes you to get from one mile marker to the next, and that is supposedly very accurate considering the markings are surveyed n such...

02 750 183mph indicated, prob mid 170's actual. Left a CBR 954 and 929 after 170mph indicated. Seems the top end of those bikes is much lower.

After 160mph indicated its all irrelivent anyhow....its just crazy fast.

Amazing how once the throttle is closed though, the bike sheds mph very fast even with no brakes.

out towards bonneville salt flats, i was on my 92 7-11 with the 1186 motor, and hit roughly 195 indicated. i was going too fast to look for more than a glance. figure that it was about 180. pretty cool till i started to get a high speed wobble and backed out. ye ha graemlins/thumbup.gif

took hella long time after 160 to get there just about topped out 6th, stock gearing, just a pipe and tre. this is indicated so use whatever factor for calibration, the bike really is aerodynamically limited, a few more ponies and maybe 180 indicated is possible.

One time I was traveling down the expressway and noticed a car riding my ass in the mirror....I sped to ove 130 mph then looked and he was still on my ass. Lesson learned is to never speed directly in front of an unmarked car. However, he said nice bike and let me go. Whew.

I know, it's stupid. I used to ride Harley's and Buell's, so for years i'd ride with no helmet. Ya just don't roll up to a club function, riding a harley, and wearing a helmet. Ya know how they are.
Since switching riding styles and bikes in 2000, I wear a helmet all the time, except for that one time. And I can't say i'll ever do that again.

Oh yeah, the 176mph was with stock chain & sprockets. Haven't had it above 165mph since changing to the 520 and adding +2 to the rear. Who knows how far it is off now.

Yea with the percent difference of my gearing i have been 155.28 actual so now i feel like a slow poke but the gearing kills my top speed achievable by 10.239% so it hurts, but i would rather have the accelleration.

nvr real pushed her to the max. my 03 600 b4 any modss i hit 145. but here in pgh there are not to many roads that i can get away with speeding like that. the cops are harsh.

Yeah definitely a re-post. Might as well add mine while I'm here. I've seen an indicated 180mph. I do wonder how much the speedo's are off? I was geared stock at the time. I now have -1 front. Very nice.

Going fast in a straight line is fun here and there. I'd rather burn through a fast sweeper.

I've seen 165 on the speedo, but in reality it was probably somewhere between 150-155

Had 178 on my digital read out but have -1 and +2 so its off considerably, speedo healer is pending delivery so i will be curious to see the corrected values as the season progresses.

It's all about the twisties, but every once in a while i run her out.
Actually speedohealers are real bubble bursters......most folks can't handle the truth :lol I doubt you're gonna like what you see either when you get it dialed in......unless you're well grounded and don't need fantasyland numbers to keep your ego happy :biggrin
