I support the killing of prarie dogs and for those who wanted to know

Q: What kind of firearms were used?

A: Three rifles were used.

Yep. Back in the sticks, we had to have a few outings every year to kill off the groundhogs (like bigass prariedogs) that dig massive holes in the ground and damage grops, such as hay and destroy gardens. Fuck em, they're rodents. Some people thought it was cruel, but when you flip over a wagon full of hay and peoples' lives are in danger because your tire fell into one of these holes, you'd kill em off too. The treehuggers apparently live in the city.

So the dogs are a big problem in some areas? Do they have other ways to get them off land that they are being pests? I don't know if this is comparable to hunting. When you deer hunt you do it for food and sport. Deer do become pests and kill many people a year due to traffic accidents etc. Just curious to what the prarie dogs do.

I think most everyone here is being a little over sensitive... these guys could be getting paid to prune the population, but from the vid I don't believe there is any way of knowing that.

This seems like a very reasonable way to take care of an outta control pest population. Alot more so than poisoning them and making them suffer for hours. As it appeared to me all of these shots were kill shots. It even seemed that the ones standing next to them didn't even know what happen... I don't think you could make it any more humane.

The rat population needs to be controlled but as you can see, prarie dogs have VERY accute senses, and will run underground at the first sign of trouble. Therefore they must be engaged at a long range, and to hit the large rodents, yet small animals , you must use a adaquately powered rifle that is capable of making the long range shot accurately. A side effect is blowing the animal to peices/ turning it inside out/ giving it 5 seconds of hangtime. Obviously this video was to highlight the most effective and humane way of removing overcrowded prarie dog towns.

Of course its bullshit, id use a bigger badder cartridge to blow those lil fuckers sky-higher and into more peices. And yea its funny as hell, I wanna see the peta people out there trying to stop them from getting shot.
