I am looking for curvy roads outside of Houston.
Roads that are not busy.
The traffic is driving me crazy.
I live on the West side of Houston almost to Katy.
If anyone knows any roads that they ride I would appreciate any info, because I don't know the area.
I am also looking for the local hangouts where people hang out and bullshit about bikes.
Thanks for the help.

we usually hang out on saturdays at james coney island on westheimer. if you hit westeimer on a saturday night you'll see lots of bikes. as far as places to ride i'd recommend getting on 99 or crab river road for some nice curves and not alot of traffic. let me know when you're gonna ride. dre

head out to brookshire for some decent twistys, its about 10 miles west of katy, a group called TSBA meets out there early sunday mornings. if ya just wanna hang out and look at bikes go to the exxon at 1960 & 45 on wed nights, or James Coney on westheimer friday or saturday nights. and whenever your ready to ride let me know im in katy so im probly not too far from ya. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I want to ask you guys a question
Which is the quickest way to get back to Katy from Westhiemer.
I got stuck in traffic for 1 1/2 hours Saturday cause I didn't know that 59 North goes down from 4 lanes to 1 north of westheimer.
Thanks for the advice.

There are several farm roads west of Houston that are decent. They are mainly between Sugarland and Katy (and west of that)...You will find me exploring different routes every weekend. But for the good stuff, nothing beats the hill country west of Austin. Make a weekend out of it.

ill be in houston for a few motnhs as well, got a nail in the tire so looking for new rubber too, but 99 roads between sugarland and katy are good cuz light traffic, but nothing beats hill country in austin, thats where Ill be going back to after working for a few months....lets try to get a ride together, gotta take advantage of the 70's weather here in houston right now

Hey guys,
thanks for the advice on going out to brookshire.
I went down 359 and hit 1458.
1458 has some good twisties, if you guys know of any other roads like that let me know.
Even though it was a little cold it was worth it

If your trying to get back to katy from westheimer you can take 610 to 10, beltway 8 to 10, westheimer to 6 to 10, or westheimer all the way out.. once you get to 6 westheimer splits to 1093 on the left and westheimer parkway on the right.. take either however 1093 has alot of construction going on right now... take the 1093 all the way out to the deadend and there will be a shell on the right, normally bikers meet out there on saturday morning to ride out at about 9 am..
