: Clicking Front Wheel Noise?

Greetings,
I figured this would be a general bike issue, but my buddy (who also rides a '98 Gixxer 6) has the same problem...
I get a clicking noise coming from the front wheel when in motion. It goes away once the bike gets moving beyond 10-15 km/h, but is easy to hear when driving in a parking lot or pushing it with the engine off. Is there something in particular that '98 Gixxers tend to do that would make this noise?

Since my rotors are straight, all I can come up with is that my brake pads aren't coming back far enough when disengaged. Thoughts?
Thanks

my first venture would be to say that you have bearing failure, but is your front wheel loose at all also? I'd look at replacing the wheel bearings. They're not overly expensive.

its your brake pads. Mine does this as well. Any one have any fixes or answers what to do?

I have the same on my bike. Mine has real loose free floating disc in the front. You can grab them and shake the disc brakes and hear the buttons move. I just figure its the buttons moving as they role paast top dead center. Once at speed, centrifugal force holds them outward.

im sure its one of 2 things...1. your floating rotors are making the noise from the rivets..if thats all it is its nothing to worry about. 2. check your wheel bearings and your spacers, i had that prob with my 99.

I ripped them out and had some new EBS pads thrown in (thanx Dave). Now running in silent mode. images/icons/wink.gif graemlins/thumbup.gif
