I am Wanting to get a new Helmet i have been looking at this SHOEI RF-900 - phantom - tc - 5

and was woundering if anyone had any input on this style of helmet

I have a RF900. It's a great helmet. I now wear an Arai and as great as the RF900 is I would spend the extra bucks and get the Arai. They are lighter and cooler. The RF900 would be my second pick after the Arai.

I have that same lid. I love it and have not had any problems with it. You should be able to get a deal on one because of the RF-1000s being out.

I had the RF-900 Duhamel Replica. Nice lid, but haven't really tried any others, so I can't really give you a comparison. If I were to get a new lid, it would probably be an Arai or a Roof. Possibly even an Icon or Suomy.

I have the Picotte RF-900 and I like how comfortable the inside is and the fit is nice. However it has kind of a big outer shell size for the helmet size. You can't remove the pads to clean them either. And it whistles sometimes, dunno why and where though. I like the RF-1000 a lot, but I might get a HJC AC-11 Creature

Helmets are supposed to break in....thats how they are designed, for 1 crash only. I dont know why people give Icon crap for that picture, it did its job.

I agree that Icon is no Arai or Shoei but is is a good helmet.

Would like to see this picture of the Icon...
