: I got tank cam video of a wreck today
RedAggie03 10-22-2004, 08:30 PM We went on a pretty big group ride today and this noob was acting dumb and ended up getting his ass tangled up in a barbed wire fence...pretty much totaled the bike too...
Video is on my web site - http://people.tamu.edu/~jmh7526/ - Go to pictures and it's about half way down "The Forest" 10/22/2004
Also, please sign my guest book while you are there - I want to see how full I can get it and where everyone is from.
Enjoy!
600gixxer 10-22-2004, 09:28 PM nice vid
guamgsxr 10-22-2004, 10:37 PM good video, was that guy alright or what. what was he trying to do?
Finsl 10-23-2004, 03:13 AM Hope the kid learned his lesson and hope he was OK
Torn7th 10-23-2004, 03:25 AM Good Vid bro i do the same thing when i ride with people i dont know if they seem sketchy at all in turns or theyre trying wheelies in a pack i back off.Good call on your part i had a guy almost take me out trying to corner hard on a katana he just bought needless to say later that day he lost it in a long sweeper he was ok but the Kan was toast.
DocGixxer 10-23-2004, 04:17 AM Agreed with Torn on that one. Maybe he should think about attending the MSF course. Looks like it might do him some good.

ya he really wanted a closer look at that sign
Blitzkrieg 10-23-2004, 06:20 AM First impression of this guy kinda seems like he watched a couple races on Speed network, decided to buy a bike, and that was his first ride. I can't even begin to imagine why he'd be accellerating into a corner, let alone with a huge pack of bikes right in front of him.
mospeed 10-23-2004, 06:41 AM Gig em Ags! WHOOP! :-) class of 99
RedAggie03 10-23-2004, 06:54 AM Thanks for the comments guys! Glad you enjoyed the vid. I have no idea what he was trying to do, but my guess is he really wanted to get through that corner fast, but couldn't commit. He would have been fine if he didn't stand the bike up, but instead just scrape the pegs and stick it...He def needs the MSF course.
Oh yeah - WHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPP! Aggies ROCK. '03.
caper 10-23-2004, 07:07 AM Obviuosly NO and i stress NO riding experience at all, accelerating into a corner when he was shaky in that first corner which didn't look as sharp, reminds me of a couple of newbies I rode with this year and 4 of them crashed. Dunno what to tell these guys because they see others doing stuffand think hey that's the same bike as mine so I can do thatand PRESTO CRAAAAASSSSHHHH! DUMBASSES!
stevehendricks06 10-23-2004, 07:40 AM The guy told me it was his first STREET bike, I told him he had a nice bike before we took off, man I feel like I jynxed him. I hate leading a group and have this happen, I feel like I have the blood of noods on my hands.. anyone CS guys ride on sunday Im pretty sure time 12:30 at sonic but not 100 percent positive let me know if u wanna come
Qui3tStorm 10-23-2004, 07:46 AM So was the kid hurt at all?
stevehendricks06 10-23-2004, 07:56 AM well alot of ppl thought so cause i finally found out about the wreck came back and was given a cell phone with the paramedics on the line so i told them where we were. The guy seems bruised but fine bike started after a while nothing major. Damn I was just talking to the guy on the green zx-10 who crashed too that day, damn I really feel bad now.
RedAggie03 10-23-2004, 09:41 AM Yeah - I was behind the guy on the ZX-10R when he crashed!! Don't ride infront of me!!
Like I said - everyone is ok so that's good.

My thoughts excatly
Ibidu1 10-23-2004, 01:59 PM That bike isnt totaled thats just a "scratch", you guys are wussies. When we wreck out here, better pick your bike up and RIDE lol. But I know what you mean when you ride in big groups, your bound to have 2-3 guys go down. Ive been on a ride once with about 20 wrecks lol! A lot of noobs target fixate
JetSpeedz 10-23-2004, 03:16 PM wow so much missfortune

SH0RTBUS 10-23-2004, 06:52 PM It sucks that he went down. Knowing that he was a noob, he should have been up front setting the pace. Putting a new rider in the middle or end of a pack of more experienced riders is a disaster waiting to happen. I am sure the guy feels dumb enough without being on an internet video with the commentary.
Anthony D 10-24-2004, 12:13 AM he definitely could have held that line had he just know what to do. was he okay?
RIP11 10-24-2004, 01:51 AM man, me and my buddy are in college station like 3 times a week and never see any bikes. what days do y'all ride up there? i live in katy but my bro has a house up there so im always there.
BLKturbo91 10-24-2004, 04:00 AM That sux but this is the only way a http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/squid.gif learns. I would disagree with the put the rook in the front. I don't want to be behind a person doesn't know what to do in a easy turn much less freak out and hit the brakes or accelurate for no known reason!!!
Kurrupt_1 10-24-2004, 04:13 AM What a squid..............I guess we all had to start some where huh...........
Durien512 10-24-2004, 04:19 AM ouch

We were all squids once and taking a header into a fence is not the way to learn. Squid or not I wouldn't wish a crash on anybody as a "learning" experience. MSF courses will teach way more than a bad wreck. I really hope the guy is okay.
bdmpastx 10-24-2004, 02:06 PM Well, first off, what lower is that on the SV650S you got there...My GF just got a 2005 SV650S and she was looking for one. I have seen a few but they require the upper to be replaced.
As for the crash, I love that low speed set of corners in Richards. Good knee draggin spots. Just got to watch out for cars on the wrong side of the road. Poor guy was a moron...he didn't even make it to the forest! bwahahahaha! So now I know why so many Montgomery cops patrol the forest. :rolleyes
lobsta 10-24-2004, 05:42 PM hmmm that looked painful...
smithnea 10-24-2004, 06:28 PM Thanks for the vid and cool site
SkizitGSXR 10-24-2004, 06:29 PM Cool vid.
Dumb-ass kid.
I like the tachon your SV. Never bothered to look at the '04s in the show room. Nice ride, man.
I feel bad for your buddy with the ZX-10. Sucks..awesome bike..s'what I am gonna get.
And as far as where to put noob riders in the pack..the answer is no where. But, they want to ride, too, so alas, you gotta figure something out.
I usually linger towards the rear, too, so I can watch everyone.

GSX-RDreamN 10-25-2004, 07:44 AM Its cute how he crashed right next to the welcome sign. Nice vid, hope he's alright. I had a feeling when he was riding the double yellow line, blind, up that hill, that he would be the one to watch for the show.
RajunCajun 10-25-2004, 08:22 AM It will teach him to ride better next time. Now he knows
his limit in that curb. .....You watch he be a better rider now.
