These snaps and movie are from the London Chelsea Bridge & Soho bike meet tonight. I got my new camera, and it frigging rocks, so I thought I'd do a tour and take some snaps of the bikes I thought were cool, and made some videos with the new cam of the fun. The video is pretty damn good for a digicam, especially one so small!

http://jayadair.com/video/friday.wmv (8mb)

In the video is my mate Phill wheelying his girlfriends gixxer, my mate Branco's R1 with new silly-loud pipes and lastly the guy I sold my old R6 to, on his new R1 with very loud pipes, which I really liked the sound of.

There's a few funny pics in here, sorry there's so many, got a bit carried away. Can make comments on some if you have any q's. There's a £45,000 bike in there somewhere, can you see it?

do black people ride bikes in the UK, because you never see them in any of the mags that come from there.

ice head, there's surprisingly few black riders on the London circuit. I don't know why that is. There's only about three guys who frequent these meets. There's many Europeans though.

Whats teh police action like down there now??? Has it died off for winter yet? Went in summer and it was rocking. Learning to wheelie on my DRZ dirt now so I could go for a pose :-) As long as the police aint heavy down there.

There's been no Police down there for a few months now, and normally when they do turn up, it's only for an hour or two, then when they go, it all kicks off again http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Shame there weren't others doing stunts last night.

I, personally prefer the European style of customization. No bling, missing rotors, or the like, all buisness. Everyones wearing gear too

There are black people riding bikes in london. I know 'cos I'm one of them!! Amethi, Is that the R1 that was in a magazine not to long ago? What day is the Soho meet on?

Amethi
10-12-2004, 03:53 AM
Yes Badman, it was Branco's R1 in Fastbikes this month. Soho is on Friday nights, we normally head there after Chelsea Bridge about 11pm or so, then after soho at 2 or 3 other people leave for Staples Corner for the stunting.

The blue r1, and mvaugusta are my pics out of this lineup. The r1 has an amazing amount of time and money dumped into it, too much in my opinion when looking at the healthy strips. With that much money dumped into handling i would expect to see hamburger rubber on the edges. It's set up for the track, so why does he have out on the roads at night? There isn't even a headlight from what i can tell. Is he trying to go all the way for rossi poser look? No headlight and no mirrors... But it is very nice, he knows how to make a bike look great. And keep that tasteful carbon fiber eye candy coming!

But what's the deal with the first Rizla replica that says "Rila" instead of Rizla?

Amethi
10-12-2004, 06:08 PM
The Rossi-Rep R1 owner is a club-racer, I've been on track with him and this bike, and believe me, he doesn't hang about. People make snap judgements too quickly. This is his fun bike, not his track bike, go figure http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Amehti, I hear Branco had a bit of a falling out with the guys at Harris. One of the workers in Infinity Motorcycles told me. Never knew they had such an attitude problem. That R1 has had mad amounts of money spent on it.
Gonna try and get up to soho with some of tthe boys soon. Will let you know when.

Amethi
10-12-2004, 11:56 PM
It doesn't surprise me, I can't stand Harris at all, I've had a string of bad experiences with them. They have the worlds WORST customer service, they're shit. I didn't know about that incident though. See you at the meets!

Gorgeous bikes, man. You Brits sure know how to do-up ur bikes real nice. They all look look sweet and cherry (with exception to the fugly 900rr with the yellow frame), especially that Rizla Rep and Rossi Replica. Speaking of which, have you caught a glimpse of Rossi over there? He lives in London, right? Does he still pop up in Leceister (sp?) Square to meet with fans?

Amethi
10-14-2004, 07:34 PM
Thanks Stylez. Yes, Rossi lives in London, and it's nice to see him in Leceister square (you got it right!), but it gets so packed in there when he announces in advance he's going. He's been known to pass though our Soho bike meet from time to time, in a car. Saw him at a club once as well, would love to become pals with him, lol!

My god that Rizla is bad !!! You guys all wear full leathers?

the Doctor
10-15-2004, 09:44 AM
Ha! Yeah....u and me both, buddy. Perhaps maybe he'd let us be apart of his groupies and fly us to the races where we'd run on the track after he wins and give him his Italian flag while patting him on his helmet. LOL. Hey...it could happen. I'd imagine a rich guy like himself would live in or around Kensington. Do you happen to know where the guys lives by any chance?

ummm dude.....could anyone tell me what exhaust is on the R1
the undertail with carbon fiber.......what company or brand is that....anyone?

Amethi
10-16-2004, 07:52 AM
Styles, it's no secret he lives in St James Square. We've ridden through there a few times, though of course, it's the sort of place you're going to find a tricked up bike and yellow '46' banners laying around hehe.

The exhaust on the R1 is a new Harris Performance Products item, you might be able to find it on their website http://www.harris-performance.com/. Personally, I don't deal with them, they're arseholes and have let me down too many times. Much of the carbon items on the R1 are custom jobs, hand made for the guy, he put in a masive effort into sourcing everything, I honestly don't know where you could get hold of any of that stuff. The bolt-ons are obviously off-the-shelf items though.

i think the rarest thing in all of that was TWO hot brit chicks...hot british chicks is an oxymoron. statistically speaking the two in that pic means that all the chicks in the bar were huuurrtin'

just busting yer balls....great pics....and i dig that people are serious about gearing up...in the US it's rare to find even ONE person in full leathers let alone GROUPS....esp on a cruise night.

We've all seen the pictures of people who've slid along the ground with just jeans and a non-leather/bike jacket on, and it's scary, I never want to experience that. I've also come off a couple of times on track, and have felt nothing, had more pain falling out of bed. I won't ride without gear.

Also, peer pressure means a lot, it's been part of our culture now for the last thirty years or so, that bikers wear gear, so the government have a number of saftey campaigns promoting saftey for bikers, the shops are always going to advise you about needing gear, and because everyone else wears gear, if you turn up with no gear, and then shrug off the dangers, people will look at you like you're stupid.

I wear gear 98% of the time when on a bike, there's exceptions, there always are, but I'm my most comfortable knowing I'm doing as much as possible to protect my body, I see no glamour in going to hospital (even if it is 'free', heh). I can appreciate that in many US states, it's unbearably hot for full leathers, we get by as we don't have many days like that, we just suck it up and keep moving (circulating air), for you guys, well, I know there's textile suits just as protective as full leathers, so I do wonder why it's not more common-place to wear this stuff, especially when everyone I've seen in photos or videos, who's come off a bike with no gear in the States, always ends up crying like a baby, complaining it's going to cost them tens of times the amount of protective gear.. I mean, where is the common sense in these situations?

Hot chicks.. mm.. we have many, don't mess http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
