I have a 92 GSXR-750, and whenI put the bike into gear, it cuts off, no lights, just plain dead.

However, when the bike is in neutral, lights come on, and I can start the bike, idles fine, but the second I go into gear, it cuts out.

Has anybody expereinced this before, and if you have, how did you fix it?

The side stand switch is disabled, and the wires leading to it, are shorted together.

Could it be the sidestand relay?

When I get the bike out of the towing yard tommorrow, I'll try the relay, hopefully it's as simple as that.

Sounds like the side stand swich. Check and make sure that it is connected and working properly.
