The sales guy said this is a perfect starter bike so I bought it.

What is the loudest exhaust and will synthetic oil void my warranty.

Also do I need a Juice box if I get a full system?

hmmm there is something i dont understand is this your first bike and how much riding have you done prior. the reason i say this is why would a salesman say a gsxr1000 is the perfect first bike. :scratch a 600 would be a smarter start. but if you have plenty of experience then np. but for a first bike noooo not a 1000. just my thoughts. :burnout

Im sorry if i mistook this for his first bike but a salesman saying a perfect starter bike is a 1000 is a load of crap and as i said in my post if hes got the experience then its a perfect bike for him. which by the sound of it is what it is. but i see to many new riders on supersports my way who are young and ride like idiots and die doing so. ive been riding 30 damn years. And owned plenty of bikes. so a salesman trying to sell a 1000cc supersport to new riders is damn stupid. :banghead

true m8 i agree with that, but ill tell you this, down my way iv'e noticed a few who cant ride and there on litrebikes, now that's a problem. but if they are responsible and keep the bike in rain mode till there capable then fair enough but I've noticed that there are so many who misjudge there ability, Just look at youtube there's videos all over it. also there are many who are seriously irresponsible, especially young new riders. i admitt i was the same when i was young :p
Also we have a lot of bike deaths on our roads here at the moment, there's a big advertising campaign happening here to get them to understand. sorry for my if i'm coming across strong but i ride every. And have seen some silly things from other riders.
For example, here we have laws on wearing helmets, i noticed a fool on a litrebike during, not wearing a helmet or any other safety gear, in thick traffic during our holiday season with a lot of elderly drivers around who tend to come out in front of you here (its a retirement area and holiday spot here). A risk i wouldn't take myself. last thing we need here is more deaths in turn more policing which makes it less fun for the rest of us.

That all said, its a great bike for him and im hoping to upgrade myself soon to the 2012 gsxr1000 myself, nice to get backon a litrebike been a while since iv had one. still i like the 750 it has plenty of grunt. :burnout

I was tired of being left out.

I want to park it on corner entry and make everyone behind me take evasive action to avoid running in to me.

Then go super slow but when people try to pass me I will use the 1000 power to rocket down the straight and park it in the next corner all over again.

You are making me want one. But im leaning towards the Aprilia RSV4-Factory for my next 1k.

The guy I track day with bought a 2012 RSV4 R this season.

He had a fully built gixxer 600.

The RSV4 feels like a 250 with liter bike power.

He was able to take 2nd place on a stock RSV4 on race rubber.

He has track dayed the piss out of it and 0 issues. The brakes are great out of the box and the TC works very well.

If I had the money I would have gotten te RSV4.

They are only heavy on the scale. In other words, the slim design and mass centralization make them feel MUCH lighter than they are.

As far as power, yes...they are down on power compared to the ZX-10 and BMW. The RSV4 makes about 160-165ish stock. BUT, due to the engine characteristics, that power is very usable.

Not to mention they respond really well to mods. KWS built one to well over 200hp recently.

Karns Performance
06-06-2012, 09:59 AM
