I noticed that the bike smells like gas coming out from the cap area while parked in garage on a hot day. This is my my temporary fix until I figure out what to do !!

I don't want to go after market, and getting a new cap means transferring the key lock. What would be a cheap fix ? Can the cap rubber seal be replaced !?

I get a gas smell as well when its really hot out too. The gasket seems like its pretty hard and probably doesn't seal well. I haven't been able to find a replacement gasket by itself without buying the whole assembly, so I was thinking of buying a tube of gasket maker and putting a thin layer on the the existing gasket.
