i know most of the kit i am gonna build will have to be custom but i am piecing things together for my 98 750 srad. ive seen pics of decent log type manifolds and also aluminum airboxes for turbo. does anyone know where i can find either piece? i can weld things and bend my own charge piping at work but i cant do aluminum only steel. even a google search doesnt find either part? anyone know? and also i notice most of the turbo guys are going with an external fuel pump and gutting the stock one. why is this? doesnt anyone sell a high flow in tank replacement?

The reason it's hard to find parts is because the bike is 6 generations old. That's an eternity in the sportbike world. You might have to go with custom made parts :dunno

You could make the airbox (plenum) yourself from steel in case you can't find one or want to spare money.

There are plenty of high flow in-tank pumps from Walbro and others. You still need an external fuel pressure regulator, and a return line from this to the tank.

i was thinking of makin an intake mani out of steel cause i could do that easy but i was worried about rust over time from moisture getting into the motor and also steel holds heat alot more than an alum one would i would think

I don't think rust will be an issue. In case you want to be sure about it the unit can be painted inside too if it is made with a cover that can be removed, and it can then be inspected inside like once a year. Even if small paint particles may become loose and sucked into the engine I cant see this would do any harm. And a good paint with the a good primer should seat well where it is meant to be.

My plenum, which is made of stainless steel, will be ready in about a week. I'll post pictures then. This is also an option if you have a MIG weld and load it with SS wire. Welds on stainless steel should be pickled and washed with high pressure water to prevent corrosion. I'm not sure the English word is pickled, what I mean is an acid treatment to neutralize contaminated weld areas and scars on the surface.

I still have some parts left over from my old SRAD turbo. I know I have a airbox and material around to make another. If interested I can make you aluminum intake. Pm me and can maybe help you out.

I have a jig for the headers, can make them in 304/316 stainless or mild steel
And the gen 1 busa, and 01-04 gsxr 1k have the same throttlebody spacing, easy to adapt the plenum to srad
External fuel pump is more common but an adapted intank should work fine, need a 225 walbro or similar and replace the std in rail regulator with a boost referenced one
