Just picked up a scorpion exo 1000, and was wondering what people would recommend to get some audio inside of it. looking to connect it to my ipod and/or gps.

If the 1000 is anything like the 700 the only option Ive seen for speakers is you have to cut out some of the foam padding around the ears. People usually open up the cheek pad, remove some inner foam out, then either insert the speaker and sew back together, or sew and attach speaker on top of fabric. Those helmets dont leave anyspace or have pockets for speakers.

Other then that, earbuds.

I recommend using the system where you have little headphone in place and then you drill out a hole and put a headphone jack going out of the helmet. Then you simply plug a stereo cable from your ipod or whatever into the helmet and you're good to go :thumbup

jk obviously

Ill never buy a chatterbox again an wouldnt suggest it. not cause its a bad device it works an performs perfectly but for the simple fact that when i was doing 80 down the 202 an it decided to commit suicide by jumping off my helmet. clip an all. quickest 200$ ive ever lost

i duno if i can fit earbuds on...when i put on my helmet my ears always fold down and i have to wiggle the helmet around to get them to sit properly again, so i have a feeling the earbuds would fall out when i try and put my helmet on.

just drill some holes in your helmet and stick the ear buds through.

Get these. Good sound, and they loop over your ear which keeps them in pace when putting your helmet on etc.

u think they would actually stay on even though my ears are folding down? wouldnt they just slide off when my ears fold down and the helmet drags them off?

you'll just have to be careful when youre taking off and putting on the helmet. Ive broken a few sets of head phones because I forgot I had them in removed my helmet

Yea, fuck listening to music while riding.. Just wait till a cop comes flying up to pass you up and you can hear them...

I was damn near almost taken out on a huge tractor while at a 4 way stop sign.. A fire truck was coming from one direction and I was at the stop sign. I did not hear the siren blasting and I did not see any cars or a big fire truck coming. Next thing I know the fire truck is flying through the intersection and damn near t-boned me going 40+ mph..

If I was on the bike I would have been further in the intersection and I would be dead right now.. So now I will never wear ear buds and listen to music, it is too quiet and you lose a lot of "reflexes" if you can't hear anything coming up behind you...

I used to wear IEMs but that took forever to setup, sometimes they would come out, and I couldn't hear outside noise too well.

Now, I have the Tork X2s in my Exo 400s:

I love these. I use them with my Ipod Shuffle velcroed to the mouth area. Setup works great and is easy to adjust with my lip. As for volume, it's like listening to music with the windows rolled down.
