Hey guys, I've got a friend that is a tech at a local dealer here in town. We had a deal going where I would teach him martial arts and in exchange he would put my Race tech gold valves in for free.
So he gets the shock done with relative ease. But then when it comes to the forks, he is stumped as to how to get the end cap off on the innermost cartridge where the valve sits. The video that comes with the kit shows paul thede working on a showa dirtbike fork...not a street bike cartridge fork. The directions on the paper I guess aren't specific enough either.
If anyone has any experience with this install please help. I don't want him to try and force the endcap off....but then I don't want my bike just sitting there for another few weeks. My mechanic already called race tech and the guy on the phone said the valve goes in the cap which is wrong. Sooooo
Guys....I need some help here.
That endcap that attaches to piece number 7 needs to come off. It seems to have a cap that you can twist off so to speak, but my mechanic said he attempted that but stopped because he didn't want to damage anything. He says he can see the valve in the little holes at the base. He showed me the cap, so that I believed him that the valve didn't go there. So then how do I go about doing this as painless as possible?
