I heard there are some nice roads on the Ortega hwy... how exactly do I get there? I live in the LA area and will probably be taking the 405 South. thanks in advance...
Also, does anyone know of any other nice roads (twisty, smooth, no cops) near LA?

the 405 will take you into the 5..5 takes you to san juan capistrano..thats where the 74 is..get off on the off ramp for the 74, theres a great taco place right next to the mission..
then go east on the 74, but beware theres plenty of radar tax collectin whores ready to nail you. theres a couple places you can pull off and relax and eat, i like the place at the end of the 74, it over looks the lake, and is usually packed with every bike under the sun..
the old highway that takes you back into corona is nice, not twisty but a nice road. it runs along side of the 15..i think its call lake drive, take that north..
have fun..

Thanks for the heads-up about the cops. What is a good time to go?

On the weekend early in the morning. Keep a eye out for other bikers as they will give you the OK or the slow down signal.

I think the best section in Ortega is from the LOOK OUT down towards the 15fwy and back up.
Does anyone know if that guy is still taking photos in the carousel section?
