TT750 01-21-2012, 10:54 AM what fuse? did you check the 30 amp main one at the starter relay??
Ger_VXR 01-21-2012, 10:56 AM Was a 15A.is there one in the starter relay?
TT750 01-21-2012, 11:00 AM the main fuse... also the green plug under the tank that can cause electrical power loss
Is this thing on? 01-21-2012, 11:01 AM That fuse is located next to the rectifier, right? You can check for a ground fault by disconnecting your negative terminal then use a volt meter (one lead to the negative terminal and the other to the main frame of the bike). If you get a voltage reading you have a wire grounding out. Check that fuse first though. Your key will need to be in the On position to test this.

It's dead!
Take it out back and bury it!
Is this thing on? 01-21-2012, 11:05 AM God it must be cold up there right now..... Riding would propably be the last thing I'd be doing if I was in Canada right now.

oshweeken 01-21-2012, 11:54 AM Hence, why us Canucks are spending so much time on the forum!
Is this thing on? 01-21-2012, 12:35 PM Haha, I hear that! It's like 79 degrees down here today..... I rode the bike to work. Florida is great..... Except when the Quebecians show up. Then its just mass traffic concussion.....
Is this thing on? 01-21-2012, 12:37 PM Glad to see it was only a blown fuse on Bro's bike. Tracking down wiring problems suck.

There was a chap on the forum last year who has brand new looms for both carbed and injected Srad.
Im sure if you posted in the wanted section 1 would turn up and his price was really good.
A new loom in GB would be way to expensive.. If I were running an srad engine I would have purchased a loom because the day will come and they will be like hens teeth.
TT750 01-21-2012, 02:05 PM my other concern would be why did it pop???? hmmmm

i think with time i could just about rebuild any loom if it had most the plugs.. actually would love if warren sent me a dead loom or 2 for me to check out..

Would you not want to change the plugs? They are the weak link IMHO
I have a dead ish 750 carb loom that I want to try and re-make but the cost would be huge if I wanted to change the plugs too
TT750 01-21-2012, 06:34 PM hmmm plugs can be re pinned... the pins are the weakest link... i am also a fan of cutting out the extra wire in looms!! why the big manufactures not make engine/ecu as one loom and the lighting loom as a second loom. so racers could just take off the bits they not want... but then again i guess they couldnt sell the factory race looms for heart stopping prices.
Is this thing on? 01-22-2012, 08:15 AM Yeah, I thought the same thing when homeboy found it was the fuse. They don't blow for no reason. Has to be a short or something drawing to many amps. That 30A fuse would most likely be something to do with the ignition if the bike was running when the fuse blew. Any suggestions? I'm interested in what you think, I'm learning myself.
