Original Post

Hey guys. I'll be racing the 1000cc classes in WERA next year and started a YouTube channel to chronicle my adventures. I just made a video today that explains exactly how I got into motorcycles and the crazy path that has lead me to motorcycle racing.

The video also explains what I hope to accomplish with the channel; namely provide information about the fitness-training, equipment and mental approach that is required to race as well as obviously documenting the actual racing on the track. I'll also be doing motorcycle reviews that I hope will be very useful for people looking for a more real world assessment of various bikes. There's a real lack of information out there and I want to be a good resource for you guys.

I have a few videos on there from trackdays this year if you get bored of hearing me talk about myself. :suicide I appreciate your feedback guys.

Best of luck with it........you should cap it off with a Racing Ralph-esque final video that reviews/wraps-up the whole season.

If you haven't seen that one already.

I have not. That's pretty cool right there! I'll take note to make a season wrap up video. :thumbup

Thumbs up on the video! Very detailed and informative. I'm a big fan of sv650, that was my first bike.

Just a suggestion (not trying to be a-know it-all or boast)
It would be cool to splice in video footage or pictures when speaking on certain personal topics during the video. (maybe throw in vintage pictures of your bikes or older track day footage)

Love the channel. Keep up the good work!

Pictures and clips cut in will help keep the watchers tuned in and maybe understand what you are discussing better.

Good Luck! :cheers

Thanks for the suggestions. At this time I'm limited by my video editing software which won't allow me to insert photos over video. I'm working on getting my hands on a fancy program this week.

I also do have a Twitter for those that are Tweeters: @RacerX_85

Hey guys. I'm having a bit of trouble uploading some of the footage from go-karting. For now only the second session is up, but it's also the most fun one I believe. I screw up the hairpin @3:10 and one of the other guys and I start to mix it up fighting for position. He ends up getting pissed and putting me into the wall when I have an answer for every pass attempt.

This is an awesome idea! Keep up the running documentary on your experiences! I am hopefully going to learn from your experiences going from street to track and apply some lessons learned for my conversion. :cheers

I don't have any experience outdoor karting, so I can't comment. :dunno

I made this video of my roommate and I playing in the snow this weekend. It should be a bit more fun to watch than some of the other videos. Enjoy! ;)

I've been requested to do a video with information about trackdays for beginners, so this is what I whipped up. Feel free to add more information to this if you feel I omitted something.

Believe me, I know. Last year cost me over $25k... The best thing to do is put your money into an account specifically for racing, and only use that money, that way you know beforehand how much you can spend.
