Any Arai experts out there? I want to get the roundest Arai Helmet ever made and from what I have read online the discontinued Quantum 2 is the best fit? Was thinking of getting one off ebay and some sellers still have a New one in size Large. My question is does anyone know what year range the Quantum 2 was for sale for? Dont want to buy a really old helmet as the insides wont be as strong over time and a part of me dont trust some sellers on ebay as maybe they will lie about the build date.

I think it came out new around 2005 / 2006. If you don't trust the seller, make them take a picture of the build date & email it to you. Either way, it is a god 6 year plus out of date helmet.

Your in san jose, chaparral isnt that far away, swing up there try on a whole bunch of helmets and figure out which one fits you best, then buy online..

I ended up buying a Vector XL closeout from compacc, I bought a Vector Large that give me the worse freaking headache after 45mins on it. I went by the rule of snug snug snug. Screw that, the packing on the side of the helmet is not going to pack in much. So went against the grain and bought a bit too big but at least my head wont be screaming " take me home and out of this thing".

I wish the Shoei RF900 was still made, Its QUIET, even more quiet than this Arai Vector which is LOUD on the hwy. I got it because it has grooves for my eyeglasses that no other helmet maker has except for Arai.
