I live in central florida. I would like to get a dirt bike sometime within the next year, but all the land around here is privately owned; so even if I had one, I wouldn't know where to ride it. Where do you all normally go?

When you find out let me know. Supposedly there's a MX track in Ocala but I'm looking to ride the trails mainly.
Don't forget that there's a dirt section of this forum.

There's an offraod access at the end of my street. Goes to a few hundred acres of BLM land. There's plalces all over out here to ride - which keeps reminding me how much I want a dirty bike.

Ask the landowner for permission to ride :dunno worked for me. Now I've got about 8 acres of private land to ride on. Get it in writing too, and just carry it with you, it's amazing what asking can do.

Most of us go to Anthony D's house & race around his yard. When he gets tired of us we go to NJracers house. They enjoy the company. :biggrin

There's tons of designated off road trails out this way. I usually drive about an hour to go ride.

There used to be Rancho down here in Lakeland, but people tore it up pretty bad so the cops started cracking down on trespassers.
There's also River Ranch in Lake Whales - you have to own a piece of the property to go out there, but you can put up to 4 names on the deed and IIRC its only like $660 for 1/4 acre. You just buy your plot and you have access to the entire property - over 75,000 acres IIRC...
There's also a few WMA's up around your area; we have another house just south of Perry where we hunt - most of the WMA's will let you ride there too.

there should be a ton of mx tracks and practice tracks in florida, everyone I know goes down there for the winter to ride. Around my area in mass all the practice tracks and riding spots got shut down by cops or houses being built

Dude you're about 5 hrs away from Durhamtown Plantation. I just got back from a trip there...it is freaking awesome. There's about 6 mx tracks for adults, 3 mx tracks for kids and hundreds of miles of trails including single track, hill climbs, mud bogs, ect. There’s even a GP track so its accommodates everyone’s skill level. I highly recommend it. :thumbup
Take a weekend with a few buddies and go there, you won't regret it. Here's their home page.
