I have a Dell Dimension 4550 I believe it is Pentium 4, 1.8 Ghz processor and 256 DDR SDRAM. The card that came with it is a nVidia Geforce MX 420 at 64 Meg. I emailed them about upgrading but they seem very difficult to deal with and I think they are in India. Does anyone know if I can upgrade the video card and add some RAM? What is a really good bang for buck video card that will give me high frame rates on computer games? I know I could spend hundreds on a good card so price is sort of an option?

You should be able to add more ram and replace your vid card. You can either go to Dell's website and check out your current system specs, or you can pop the case and look at what's installed. If you have no more memory banks available on your motherboard, you'll have to replace the existing ram if you want more. Provided your pc has the proper AGP slot, you could go with an ATI RADEON 9600XT (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-326&depa=1) or an ATI RADEON 9800 PRO (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-268&depa=1). It all depends on how much you want to spend. There's a pretty good round-up of all the video cards at tomshardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20031229/index.html).

If you don't want to spend too much and can get your hands on a GF4Ti4400 or 4600 or even the 8x AGP versions, they're pretty good. I have a Ti4200 and it's been awesome up to now, we'll see when Doom3 comes out tho.
