Everything is apart but to actually get the sprocket off it seems as if I need to take off a hex bolt and then the large sprocket bolt. Are they reverse thread or what? I tried both ways but the hex bolt wouldn't budge...

you might want to loosen the chain adjuster nuts to get more slack in the chain..then stand on the brake and the nut should come off..

The hex nut requires a bit of force to remove it. Have someone stomp on the backbrake to provide the backward force.
The big sprocket nut is a bitch. On some bikes, it's on so tight, it requires a an extension bar + pipe to loosen it, or better yet, an impact wrench.
BUt on my bike, it wasnt on that tight at all, removed it with standard wrench. images/icons/wink.gif
Both of them are standard threading.

It is normal... Put the bike in 3rd gear... Have someone step on the back break, and then break it loose.
