Made in Japan. Assembled by hand in U.S.A.
Why: Unlike the 06/07+ integrated turn signal mirrors, the k4/5s were not so lucky and have the typical antenna mirrors that i think do nothing for the body style despite their obvious functionality. So, i opted for the next best thing, bar end mirrors. However, after looking in many places, CRG seems to make the only certifiable QUALITY folding mirrors but at $86 each or something ridiculous, the shipped price was somewhere near $170 for some nuts n bolts n cnc'd mirrors. Further searching led me to http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=308320&highlight= ricracer16 is one of the guys from moto elite. The Price for a pair of these Moto Elites is only $99 for the pair!
Quality/fit: Awesome quality. the packaging was very clean. The parts came without a scratch. tightening the bar ends is a bit tricky but nothing one couldn't handle after some playing around with it.
once tightened, it goes into the stock clip-on fairly easily and the tightening further pretty much secures the mirror 100%. the adjustability at each level of installation is comparable to crg mirrors i've seen. The mirror size is 3 inches, which is i believe the legal limit. The angle for view can be adjusted very easily and folding is clean and crisp. You can tighten the bolts after adjusting so that there's absolutely no shifting/vibrations. i don't see these ever falling off the bike from normal riding as i've read from some other horror stories with other brands.
Overall: I'm so glad i put some time into searching because i believe this is one of the best, yet least known alternatives to CRG's folding mirrors. at $99 for both mirrors, it's an easy $60+ off from the CRG's. Throughout the sale, i was in direct contact with rick and the correspondence was fast/no nonsense. I definitely recommend that anyone considering folding bar end mirrors go through Moto Elite. We need to support people like these guys (enthusiasts who themselves were looking for an alternative to the $$$$ of mainstream bar end mirrors)
Pros: Everything CRG offers, but for under $100.
Cons: None.
i'd be happy to answer questions regarding installation if anyone ever decides to grab these. peace.http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/gsx1300r/bow.gif
