I have a 91 1100 that when fully warmed up the clutch starts to drag and becomes difficult to shift about 50% of the time. Serviced the hydraulics and had the clutch apart, eveythings within specs. Noticed some grooving on the baskets. Could the grooves be hanging up the plates sometimes? Whats the inspection criteria for the baskets? Any help would be appreciated.

if the inner hub is grooved, replace it...that can cause the clutch to not disengage properly and do just what you are describing...
