Curious to know what years of Dyna coils will work with my 86 gixxer as well as the benefits I will get over my current 98 CBR 600 ignition coils. I have a 91 top end and 86 bottom, 36 mm carbs with dual K&N's and an ignition advancer plus Hindle pipe (not that this should matter right?).

Well, I have a set of grey 2.2ohm coils on my 90 GSXR750 motor, and they work great. The green 3.0 ohm coils are the recommended ones, but I contacted Dyna, and the said, go ahead and use the grey ones, they are compatible too.

They provide a hotter spark, which promotes better burn.
