on the 98 750 is swapping out the clutch a pretty difficult task? ive never changed the clutch before in any bike so i dont know what im getting myself into lol sometimes there are things everybody says is hard and you actually get into it and it snot that bad, from the service manual i have from suzuki, it looks pretty intimidating. any help would be appreciated

Not really hard at all.
A little time consuming and a little tedious but not all that difficult.
The key is to have the replacement parts ready and standing by, ready to reinstall, while your memory is fresh.
Soak the new plates in oil, overnite, before starting the job.
With the help of a service manual it should be a simple remove & replace job for you.

i think the thing that scares me the most is the little plates, gotta get the order of them right and the direction that they face right as well?

The easiest-fool proof way to do that is to turn the clutch stack face down so the last plate is on top.
The you reassemble the clutch on the inner basket 1 plate at a time, mimicking what the factory did. (ASSuming it has the original clutch?)
The fiber plates (the ones you would be replacing) can go either way. The steels are directional and you will see they are slightly different when you actually have them in hand. (There is 1 fiber plate that is thinner but my method will locate it in it's correct position)
With the entire clutch stack in order, all you have to do is substitute new plates for old as you go along.
This way you wont lose/confuse the sequence or orientation of things.
I know my clutches and still do it this way as anyone can make a mistake!

my problem is, is the clutch slips under heavy acceleration, it has a brnd new clutch cable put on, and im confident that we adjusted it right, and from what my buddy, also the previous owner told me, a new clutch assembly that he spent like 400 bucks on, so i just figured the guy he had put it in did it wrong and thats why its still slipping, so i cant really go off of how the assembly pulls off

Then the shop manual and the microfiche (http://www.ronayers.com/Fiche/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/2/Make/Suzuki/YearID/39/Year/1998/ModelID/6805/Model/GSX-R750/GroupID/290132/Group/CLUTCH) are both your friends!

hey SRAD, THAT OTHER STUFF WENT GREAT THANX 4 THE HELP, while putting it together went ahead and installed new clutch kit and just read this . Q on steels u said directional but i followed shop manual and nothing in it thats says their directional. which doest say ur wrong just i wondered that myself and specifically looked in there to see. what way do they go and which side where. now as i looked at them i laid them on flat surface and it looked flat both ways but there was a smoother edge on one side of the steels.
i have nt ran them yet was going out tomorrow so i need to c if i need to pull out and redo
