Two quickies (not quick at all). Inspired by too much free time on my hands and really crappy weather I proceeded to replace my break fluid. Seemed innocent enough. Drain all the fluid by opening valve, pushing in break, closing valve, letting go of break. Re-filled the fluid same way. Test it in the garage feels great. Take it out for a road test and almost kill my self. If the bike is standing the brakes work great. But if I roll it a little bit and then try to use the break then it takes several pumps for the break lever to get firm and work. Not good. So a little pissed of I put everything back together except now one of the screws that hold the seat in keeps spinning through. After an hour and a lot of help from the dremel (best tool ever made) I take of the seat and find out that the thread into which the screw goes in (I believe its called the sub frame?) is spinning through. Is this piece removable or replaceable? On a sub note I think I’m either going to get a Honda or make movies kind of like those Ernest goes to blah blah blah except it will be Dmitry tries to fix one thing only to break two things. Well at least I’m becoming good friends with the guy at the dealership. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Dmitry 98 gsxr 750

Sometimes after you use the brakes a bit, the air moves and then will come out. Or go to pep boys (or your local auto parts) and ask them for a brake bleader kit... They work great and get the air out on the first try.

For your seat, I have the same problem. I am not sure what to do about it, but I have not looed very hard yet... I guess I should start looking to fix that... lol

Sounds like you got air in the brakes...you need to blled them. GixxerFreak has a good idea - get a brake bleeder kit.
As for the seat...well it looks like you stripped the thread. You can try to re-tap it using a larger tap and inserting a larger screw...or try inserting a heli-coil. Good Luck!

I dont know how they do it... But the nipple comes loose and just spins... I feel for you man...

You can buy those threaded mushroom inserts from a industrial supply store. Drill out he old new and replace it. Or go to a welding shop and get them to tack the insert in place. You could try taking a star lock washer that is alittle bigger then the insert and tighten it down, it should grab the insert and the subframe, and mushroom the insert some more.

Don't feel bad dood... i tear up all kinda shit. Just the way it goes... the bad thing is... even If I take it to the shop.. they flog things up to.. that really tears me up because I am paying someone else to break my shit. So I do it all myself now... so all I have to blame is myself... for free... hehehe. Yeah freak is right ... bleed your breaks and I have the same problem with my seat. Except the little spinning screw just fell the hell out... so All I have is a big ass hole. Needless to say I may try the mushroom thing and see it that works. Right now there is nothing holding my seat down except my ass. good luck graemlins/bounce.gif
