Has anyone tryed one of these and left the exhaust valve hooked up? what effect would they have on eachother?

Dont know if anyone has tryed it or not, but when I took off the stock pipe to put on my R77 pipe on I started the bike without a pipe on it and it was not loud at all with just the cat on it. If it had not looked so strange without something on it I would have just left it that way and got my money back for the pipe.

Did u ride it like that though? It's louder when your riding it than just sitting there. If it's not obnoxious with cat only, maybe it'll be the same without the cat but with a muffler

Your "loud pipe" won't save your life. People still cut my old man off on his Harley and you can hear that bike a block away. Obnoxious.

If you must though, check this out: https://www.motomummy.com/store/product.php?productid=17061

Way to loud & a side of 50whp for you..

Ya people may do it on purpose, but your more likely to wreck if they do it on accident. Cause then instead of them cutting in front of you they're citrin into you

This will be mostly :offtopic, but I have to do it:

@carbon750:
1) I have to re-read anything you post 5-6 times to understand what you are trying to write under all the bad spelling and typo's. Re-read your own shit before posting so that we don't have to.
2) This latest post doesn't even make sense after the 6th re-read... Try harder.
3) Pay attention to the behaviour of the drivers around you on the road and don't hang out in blindspots. I have never been 'surprised' by someone cutting me off... I've always seen it coming so far.
4) Louder pipe will not avoid you being cut off.
5) Louder as a means to gain performance = very cool.
6) Louder for any other reason = really lame.
7) I disagree with every single one of your posts in this thread as well as other threads. ESPECIALLY the one about claiming a self-made scratch on a swingarm for $6k with your insurance. Pure stupid.
8) You are a retard.
9) Please reply so I can go to town on you again.

1) im typing on my phone, sorry my autocorrect is crazy sometimes, but if you had basic problem solving skills, it shouldnt be a problem to understand what im saying, id like you to point out more than 1 word ive misspelled though
2) paying attentiong to people driving around you isnt going to let you know if theyre going to come into your lane. after all, if theyre not turning to come into you lane that means theyre going straight, like everybody else, now how am i supposed to tell the difference? especially if theyre just driving in a straight line and im going around them and they just decide at the last second that they need in that lane, now how and i supposed to predict that?
3) i never said that i wanted a power upgrade, you know why? cause im not an idiot.... but you know who did bring up loud=power? you, hmmm
4) i also never said anything about a swingarm either, are you actually thinking in between reading and writing? theres your problem, you just cant read, no wonder it doesnt make sense. maybe i should say it in french, then you could read it. or maybe you should just go back to canada and get off my thread since you dont know what your (1)reading (2) or talking about
5) if its so stupid for me to get a mid pipe for my bike, how come nobody hates all over they guys that get full exhausts? its the same thing except even louder cause they have a aftermarket header too.
6) please dont reply cause NOBODY cares about what you have to say unless your gonna expand your brain capacity a little bit more

You really think having an aftermarket header makes the bike louder ??? Really . It's the Muffle you dolt . I have a full Yosh sytem on my bike. Guess what .... it didn't make it any louder. You know what did make it louder ???? Shortening the muffler .

You might want to do a little more reading before you call people an idiot . Loud Pipes do not save lives . They just annoy the people behind you . You could run an open header and most people won't notice until you are right next to their window . Why because most have their windows closed and stereo turned up or they are on their cell phones . :flipoff

If you ride like your invisible you would be better off .

unfortunatley, your wrong also. cars, bikes, trucks, ive modded them all. your partially right, ya if i got a shorter muffler if would be louder, because there would be less muffler. duh, but the cat muffles the sound too. so does a more restrictive header. you really think that an open header isnt louder than a full exhaust? wow dude.

and i know theyre not gonna hear me till im beside them..... thats when i want them to hear me! they cant hit me half way down the road so why would i need them to hear me there.

obviously since you mentioned the saying "loud pipes save lives" youve heard it before, probly more than once. maybe theres a reason for that?
and i do ride like on invisible but anything can help can it?

now does anybody have anything constructive to say? since i was asking if anybody had and experience with a particular mid-pipe and everybody else wanted to comment on my typing, riding style and everything else that has nothing to do with my question?

" Loud bikes saves lives " is BS - just pass cars quickly and stay ahead of traffic. Your on a 750 just use the throttle

Ok so the only real suggestion I've gotten out of this whole headache of a thread is that I should speed as much as possible And hope not to rear end anyone or get alot of tickets

You are right, rear-ending someone can be dangerous when not under adult supervision...

Let me add to the already really good advice started by "4or2wheels":

"just pass cars quickly and stay ahead of traffic. Your on a 750 just use the throttle" and by lifting the front tire and feathering the throttle to stay in a wheelie, you don't have to worry about rear-ending anyone, you'll just get air over them on contact. :biggrin

Seriously though. Best advice ever given by anyone for safety with traffic:
1) DO NOT GO FASTER THAN POSTED SPEED LIMIT. No matter how good your reflexes, there's always someone out there who got their license by giving the DMV guy a BJ... They may cut you off, be totally oblivious, or even panic when they see you coming and do something totally unexpected.
2) RIDE LIKE YOU ARE INVISIBLE. If you position yourself and prepare for everyone to never see you, when that person is texting and drops the phone, you will not be in their way when they cross the dotted line.
3) MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH CARS THAT MAY CROSS YOUR PATH. If you have the right of way and he has a yield, make sure you see his eyes seeing you. If his head is turned flapping his gums to the chick sitting next to him... he may not yield...
4) POSITION YOURSELF SMARTLY. Always leave yourself an out, by always being aware of and keeping a buffer zone you can jump into if needed. Do not hover in blind spots or close to big vehicles where drivers will easily miss seeing you. Defend your lane by always staying close the side that has cars. A little offence can help your defence (push cars away from you) and it provides that buffer spot for you to jump into described above.
5) WATCH THE BEHAVIOUR HINTS OF CARS AROUND YOU. I am always weary of drivers who demonstrate aggression ahead of me, they may repeat this aggression as I go to overtake them. Also, if you pay really close attention, you'll notice people often swerve a little inside their lane before changing lanes. This is because they take their eyes off the road for a second to check their mirror or blind-spots, and the "car goes where you're looking". Anyone who swerves a little may change lanes imminently, or is not focusing on the task at hand, and should be avoided.
6) ANTICIPATE BEHAVIOUR: Read the road, if you have a merge into the highway coming up and tons of cars are all getting on at the same time... You know some grandpa will enter the highway at half the speed limit and one of the guys behind him is not going to want to wait. Expect everyone to merge one lane in, and for one guy to merge 2 or 3 lanes at once with the pedal mashed to the floor. It will happen. Also watch for one of your fellow highway travellers to move left to let the merging traffic in...

Get a loud exhaust and your neighbour will actually cut you off on purpose one day when you least expect it. I see people driving with Ipods and headphones, stereos with subs blazing, on cellphones, and it's even legal to drive if you are deaf. Get a loud exhaust simply for the sake of being loud if you want to be a turd, ride smartly if you want to be safe.

(if anyone here has an exhaust that is loud purely as a side-effect for increased performance, then you're still cool. Loud for performance is awesome)

while your making some good points, that just happen to be (1) everything ive heard in the 3 motorcycle safety classes i have to take in order to ride as a soldier (Army). & (2) how i ride already.

there still hasnt been an answer to me origional question. has anybody heard of this mid-pipe or not? is it gonna make my bike stupid loud? cause thats not what i want, i just want a LITTLE volume. is it gonna sound like the full version of the same pipe or like a ricey raspy honda civic magnet?

if your looking for loud then you could do as i did and have the cat cut off and put a m4 GP on there yeah i can say people do hear me comming and going but an asswhole on the phone or not paying attention is not going to care if you have a loud pipe, just got done kicking a car door on the hwy due to texting and driving but yeah if you want loud thats the way to go but i wouldnt order a midpipe offline just get a muffler shop to make you one and save 50-75 bucks
