think the problem is definatley down to the bike running to rich.
it runs ok when it's cold and doesn't really need the choke to start, which again indicates to me that it's getting as load of fuel in there aleady without the choke being on.
the problem is when the bike gets warmed up. then anything below about 4000 rpm the bike feels bogged down and stuttery until it clears about 4 tho and the bike takes off. also a problem trying to set off slowly when in town cos i have to dial it in quite high and slip the clutch loads otherwise the revs die and the bike nearly stalls.
have adjusted the mixture (turn out to lean it off?) but seems to have no effect. wondering what else i could do to sort this out as i've got a track day coming up in a couple of weeks and i want it running right for then.
any help or advice would be much appreciated.
cheers

how old are the plugs? Are they gapped right? Are the carbs sync'd?

brand new plugs gapped to 0.7mm
a mate has got a device for balancing the carbs. we're going to have a go on friday at trying to sort the problem out. probably strip the carbs down, check the jets and everything.
Do you (or anyone) know what the original settings for the carbs are as it looks like the guy who had it before me has been fiddling. will have a look see if the idle jets/main jets are the right size and see if the needle has been lifted or anything.
also the end can is not standard (not sure what it is, completely non-descript with no markings what-so-ever) so he might have gone and got it jetted which could be upsetting things.

best thing you can do is check your jettings 125/127.5 are stock setting

Has it always done this since you got the bike?
If it was me I would open the float bowl and make sure everything is working good... images/icons/grin.gif

Just pointin out that UK spec bikes don't usually run same jet sizes as US spec bikes, and unfortunately i don't know the size of the UK spec one DOH!!!

checked with dealer and jet sizes are the same, 125 and 127.5 so now have a handful of new jets that i'm going to put in today.
so stock needles don't have any grooves in for adjustment? i didn't know that graemlins/idea.gif just the dynojet kit needles that are adjustable then?
well, going to give the bike a good going over this afternoon, cheers for the help will let you know if it has any affect or whether i can bollox it up further.

well the new jets haven't helped. ARSE!
after ringing round to price up needles and springs to put them back to standard it's gonna cost about 45 quid. so i've decided fuck it and have rung a few breakers to see what it would cost for a set of stock carbs. £75 is best so far. thinks it's gonna be the most straight forward way of trying to fix the problem rather than pissing round inside the current carbs forever more.

The last thing i would do is buy another set of carbs.I can almost guarantee if you strip them down, clean them out, get them all sync,d up and you still have the prob then it is not the carbs. But i would strip the fuckers down to there knickers first to see the obvious. After all they are only a set of carbs, the wind passes through them it picks up some juice on its way, hopefully the same amount on each one,if it does,nt at a certain rpm then either a fuel jet or an air jet is blocked.Trust me graemlins/thumbup.gif
