I use to be able to click an email adress on a website, as in the contact info for that site, and it would automatically take me to my outlook page and allow me to send an email.I used my verizon account as my default. Here lately it hasn't been opening and when I click an email address it tells me it can;t open the module for that program. I tried to change my default to my hotmail account which is were I would rather it go and that didn;t work either...Any suggestions on how to fix this?? I have windows xp and outlook express 6..Also when i go into outlook it tells me that it can't gain connection w/ my hotmail accoutn even though I have all the info entered...Thanks for the help!!!

You want it set to Outlook Express if you are going to use OUTLOOK to send the email regardless of the email provider. If its set to hotmail, it is going to launch your browser window and ask you to log into hotmail.
As for Outlook express not syncing, im useless since I use normal Outlook.

I think part of your problem was that regular email accounts through isps are POP3 and your trying to download email from HTTP . There is a spot in preferences where you select which type of server you are connecting to, for hotmail you need to select the HTTP .
I hope this helps

no no no. go into c:\winnt\inf (windows 2000) or c:\windows\inf (windows xp) and open "sysoc.inf" and scroll through the list. look for
"msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7"
delete the hide so it looks like this:
msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7
File --> Save
now go to add remove progs --> add/remove windows components, and you should see a second "msn messenger" with a odd icon next to it. NOW you can remove it. Also, go to start --> run and type "msconfig" and go to the startup tab. look for msmsgs and uncheck it. If you feel confident, look in there for anything else that doesn't need to start when you turn on your comp... AIM.... etc etc.
