this may sound stupid, but does elevation screw up carbs?since my bike is jetted in lower elevation. i was planning on taking my bike up to denver and grand lake area 10,000ft and dont want my bike running like crap. any comment are welcome

It will not have the HP you have at sealevel. You can re-jet it if you want but to tell you the truth just for a vacation that is a lot of work for a few days of riding.
Be sure to bring layers of clothes, it is summer out here but at night and in the morning up in the Grand Lake area is gets cold as hell

Just like Jon said, when you get in the mountains, you're going to notice a power difference b/c the air is less dense. Whenever I head to the hills(Rapid City/Sturgis), I can tell a difference, not as easy to wheelie, but still really easy to do. Of course mine is FI and changes accordingly, but I still notice a power loss.
