86 1100. Guys I’ve been reading this site about headlight problems all weekend and still have not found a logical comparison to my problem. Both my headlights are inop, the first sign of this problem was both my dims went and now nothing. I’m getting power up to the relays and when I jump past them I do get one light on from the left relay side and both on from the right side. However, the kicker is I found an identical relay for another circuit and when it is used for testing of each of the existing relays nothing happens. Of course all fuses and bulbs are good and I’ve checked the handle bar dimmer switch more than once. I’ve been told there is no way to check these relays and costing close to 50 bucks I really do not want to start buying them just to see if that is the problem. Anybody had a problem like this? Thanks

Update for prior problem. Since I posted this back in June I took the bike to a local shop and thought the problem had been resolved there. The mechanic told me that the problem was in the fuse box with the connection of the fuse. He told me that he just bent the legs on the fuse and was able to get the connection to work. Which it did for a while. Before retiring the bike for the winter the light problem begin to show up again. When it did I would re-bend the connection and sometimes it would work and sometimes not. Now that I have the bike out for spring the lights now refuse to come on. The fuse box was taken apart and although I didn’t find any connection problems I ended up buying another box thinking that must be it. Today the box I ordered came and I installed it on the bike but… NO LIGHTS. So I am back to square one and am looking for any help or advice that some of you might have regarding this on going problem. As the prior post states all bulbs, relays, fuses, and switches have been checked.
