Ended up using automobile oil in my bike. Luckily have only put about 12 miles (highway) on it since putting it in because the weather has been garbage. Sad to waste a brand new oil filter though but lesson learned. Was at the very least 10w-40 mobil 1, just not the right kind ;)

I did the same thing and destroyed my engine, didnt know what I was doing?! Always stick with 4 stroke motorcylcle oil 10W40 is a solid choice. Leaning toward Amsoil these days, but used to use Honda synthetics on my other bikes.
